Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ter McLeay made the kick off and thus started the match. Ivan Crombie hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Ivan Crombie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronan McCune saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patrick McLea got free with Miles Munn in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Patrick McLea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Miles Munn made a huge save. A collision led to Ellon getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Tim Skinner hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Taylor McBeath had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronan McCune. Ellon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Taylor McBeath was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Patrick McLea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Miles Munn made a huge save. If Grant McBurie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronan McCune showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ter McLeay, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute, Grant McBurie reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Miles Munn. The goal made the score 1-1. After having played for 47 minutes, Terence McCamie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ellon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terence McCamie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patrick McLea was the one to do the kick off. Patrick McLea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronan McCune took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ter McLeay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ellon's Ronan McCune proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Ellon from getting a goal against them. A hard shot by Les McCuish from long distance, 59 minutes into the match, got Ronan McCune's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Darius Robson kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Jason Addison blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronan McCune having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Crombie during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ivan Crombie hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Invergarry AFC's Miles Munn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grant McBurie in the 73rd minute of play. During the 84th minute of the match Ivan Crombie completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ivan Crombie a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Grant McBurie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Grant McBurie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Miles Munn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miles Munn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Grant McBurie went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ellon had played much better football throughout.
