The tension between the Ellon and the Kirriemuir players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Rupert McIlwhom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Jack Esson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kirriemuir's supporters rose to their feet, but Jack Esson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronan McCune breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 5 minutes into the game, Jack Esson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Ronan McCune was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Norman Alder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grant McBurie in the 11th minute of the match. Jack Esson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 12th playminute. After 16 minutes of play, Ellon's Grant McBurie made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Norman Alder was left in no man's land by his defense there! Norman Alder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grant McBurie in the 22nd minute of the match. Norman Alder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick McLea, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Norman Alder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant McBurie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, Kirriemuir's goal looked a bit too open when Terence McCamie came free, but Norman Alder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ellon's Ronan McCune played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregor Harold in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Kirriemuir's Jack Esson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ronan McCune. Ronan McCune yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. Gregor Harold took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronan McCune. Ronan McCune dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. The supporters of Kirriemuir booed when Ellon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terence McCamie didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Gregor Harold kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ronan McCune. That made the score 5-1 in the 44 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-1.

A hard shot 52 in the game by Patrick McLea from a close distance when the talented Norman Alder managed to make a qualified save. Kirriemuir's players were relieved. 54 minutes into the match, Kirriemuir's goal looked a bit too open when Terence McCamie came free, but Norman Alder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ellon booed when Kirriemuir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. George McWhirr didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronan McCune showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregor Harold, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. The Ellon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. 82 minutes into the match, Gregor Harold notched a goal, 6-2, to the right of Ellon's Ronan McCune. Ronan McCune was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Esson in the 86th minute of play forced Ellon's goalkeeper Ronan McCune to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kirriemuir's George McWhirr got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Patrick McLea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronan McCune showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jack Esson in the 94th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Kirriemuir fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ellon had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
