Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Sean Elliott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jake Brebner, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Aaron McIan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Wharrie in the 6th minute of play. Kenny Haws received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Sean Elliott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaron McIan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rick McEachern in the 10th minute of the match. The Alva fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Alva's Jake Brebner looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jake Brebners short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Sean Elliott to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alva's Aaron McIan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rick McEachern in the 16th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Alva's goal looked a bit too open when Rick McEachern came free, but Aaron McIan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18thth minute of the game Rick McEachern who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alva's Aaron McIan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sean Elliott didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jake Brebner went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 27 minutes into the game, Avoch's Norman McComas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aaron McIan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Rick McEachern recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alva's Aaron McIan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenny Wharrie in the 31st minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Alva's Jake Brebner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sean Elliott made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Aaron McIan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Wharrie in the 39th minute of play. Aaron McIan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman McComas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, Avoch's goal looked a bit too open when Jake Brebner came free, but Sean Elliott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Alva's Jake Brebner ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sean Elliott. Sean Elliott yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Phil Dobbie to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norman McComas in the 53rd minute of play forced Alva's goalkeeper Aaron McIan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sean Elliott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Brebner in the 56th minute of play. 4-2 became the score in the 61st minute when Kenny Wharrie elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Avoch's Alexander Donachie got a free kick in the 64th minute. With a little luck, Alva's Aaron McIan got control of the ball when Rick McEachern tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Kenny Wharrie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Avoch's goal looked a bit too open when Phil Dobbie came free, but Sean Elliott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicol McCuag's late challenge caught a Avoch's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicol McCuag helped the player get up and apologised. 73 minutes into the game, one of Alva:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kenny Wharrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Aaron McIan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Norman McComas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron McIan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Avoch getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Phil McTary hit a great ball. Kenny Wharrie scored 4-4 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aaron McIan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aaron McIan made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Rick McEachern sent off a good shot on target. Alva's Aaron McIan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Alva from getting a goal against them. Alva's defense didn't have a chance, in the 97th minute, when Norman McComas scored to the left of an out of position Aaron McIan, making the score, 4-5. Avoch's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
