Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rick McEachern took the kick off in the first half of the match. Cromarty's Malcolm Ingram played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenny Wharrie in the 4th minute of play. Malcolm Ingram took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman McComas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Malcolm Ingram showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norman McComas, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Cromarty's goal looked a bit too open when Kenny Wharrie came free, but Malcolm Ingram reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenny Wharrie in the 18th minute of play forced Cromarty's goalkeeper Malcolm Ingram to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute Rick McEachern shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Ingram saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Avoch's Alexander Donachie got a free kick in the 24th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Connor McLardy got free with Sean Elliott in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sean Elliott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Burk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute Nick McIldowie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Elliott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute Rick McEachern shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Ingram saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Cromarty was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Douglas Burk to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Norman McComas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Avoch fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 40 minutes into the match, Avoch's goalkeeper Sean Elliott had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nick McIldowie. Malcolm Ingram didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Norman McComas went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 48 minutes into the match, Avoch's goal looked a bit too open when Nick McIldowie came free, but Sean Elliott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Douglas Burk to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Avoch's zone, Nick McIldowie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sean Elliott came out of the goal and Nick McIldowie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Malcolm Ingram was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Norman McComas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Norman McComas really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Malcolm Ingram successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Malcolm Ingram was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Kenny Wharrie capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kenny Wharrie really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Malcolm Ingram made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Rick McEachern sent off a good shot on target. 69 minutes into the match, Avoch's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas Burk came free, but Sean Elliott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cromarty's Duncan Ellis suffered a sore thigh after 70 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Rick McEachern's late challenge caught a Cromarty's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rick McEachern helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Avoch getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Rick McEachern hit a great ball. The supporters of Avoch booed when Cromarty was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Connor McLardy didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute, Phil McTary hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Avoch getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Joseph McNey hit a great ball. The supporters of Avoch booed when Cromarty was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Connor McLardy didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Kenny Wharrie dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Malcolm Ingram, 0-5. The Avoch supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Avoch would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
