Iain Broom kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Malcolm Johnstone took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Douglas Broom. Keith United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Norman McWalrick's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 7thth minute, Douglas Broom skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Norman McWalrick did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Douglas Broom 7 minutes into the match. Iain Broom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Sylvain Holemans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Ricky McGillivour ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sylvain Holemans was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Keith United's zone, Jordan McGilp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas Broom came out of the goal and Jordan McGilp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Norman McWalricks short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Douglas Broom to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Douglas Broom made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Derek Grewar sent off a good shot on target. Norman McWalrick blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Douglas Broom having to make a save. 22 minutes into the match, Maccaulich FC's Norman McWalrick sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Douglas Broom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 23 minutes, Bradley Simson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Keith United and the Maccaulich FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Keith United getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Bradley Simson hit a great ball. In the 30th minute Norman McWalrick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Broom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Ricky McGillivour managed to get in a good position for a shot. Keith United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricky McGillivour was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sylvain Holemans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Douglas Broom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derek Grewar in the 32nd minute of play. 2-1 became the score in the 35th minute when Norman McWalrick elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 38 minutes into the game, Norman McWalrick lined in a short shot 3-1 behind a frustrated Douglas Broom. With his leg Douglas Broom managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Maccaulich FC's Norman McWalrick fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Norman McWalrick in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Douglas Broom saved Keith United from getting behind. Sylvain Holemans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iain Broom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iain Broom made a kick off. Douglas Broom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norman McWalrick's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. After 65 played minutes, Maccaulich FC's Richard McGhie shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Douglas Broom came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maccaulich FC reached it. Douglas Broom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norman McWalrick's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Norman McWalrick in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Douglas Broom prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Norman McWalrick came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Maccaulich FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norman McWalrick couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Norman McWalrick put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Douglas Broom. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricky McGillivour got free with Sylvain Holemans in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Maccaulich FC's Norman McWalrick in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iain Broom couldn't finish the play. Maccaulich FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
