The supporters of Lochgelly booed when Athletic Hearts was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob Pollard didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Erdem Aras couldn't finish the play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ahmet Erdem Aras stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lochgelly's Shaun Porter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Erdem Aras in the 52nd minute of play. Lochgelly's attentive Eric Clements managed to snatch the ball when Romão Leão made a throw-in in the 55th minute of the game. 59 minutes into the game, Athletic Hearts's Ahmet Erdem Aras nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 78th match minute, Athletic Hearts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romão Leão to maneuver through the defense. If Martin Johnstone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 91 minutes, Ahmet Erdem Aras managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Athletic Hearts's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmet Erdem Aras was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Athletic Hearts were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Lochgelly side.
