Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Iain Broom got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Davie McCaig notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Keith United's Douglas Broom. Douglas Broom was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When ARBROATH FC's Oliver Borthwick in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Nicholas McLerie charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicholas McLerie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of ARBROATH FC booed when Keith United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicholas McLerie didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18thth minute of the game Harry McFie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Keith United's Douglas Broom was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 19th minute Davie McCaig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Broom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Keith United's Ricky McGillivour ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ian McCabe. Ian McCabe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Oliver Borthwick charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oliver Borthwick the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Oliver Borthwick hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Willie Frissell took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ian McCabe. Ian McCabe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Ricky McGillivour recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute, Oliver Borthwick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ian McCabe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iain Broom, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Harry McFie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Broom having to interfere. Douglas Broom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davie McCaig in the 43rd minute of play. Douglas Broom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry McFie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ian McCabe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iain Broom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Oliver Borthwick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harry McFie was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Davie McCaig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ARBROATH FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. A collision led to Keith United getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Max Copeland hit a great ball. Nicholas McLerie kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. When ARBROATH FC's Harry McFie in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee ignored ARBROATH FC's protests and gave Derek McMillan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, ARBROATH FC's Derek McMillan got a free kick in the 91st minute. Ian McCabe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iain Broom in the 97th minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
