Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Barry Gilbert got the match started through his kick off. Arthur Barns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raymond Johnston in the 4th minute of the match. After 8 played minutes Rangers FC got a freekick which was hit by Darius Bontine. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barry Gilbert in the 10th minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Glasgow Rangers FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Vincent Huntly hit a great ball. When Tyler McCraw fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rangers FC's protests and gave Tyler McCraw a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Rangers FC's Tyler McCraw got a free kick in the 14th minute. Arthur Barns didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raymond Johnston went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ben Buchan, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 39th match minute, Glasgow Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicholas Aspin to maneuver through the defense. Fergus Fairbairn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry Gilbert in the 43rd minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raymond Johnston stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barry Gilbert in the 51st minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guy McIan got free with Fergus Fairbairn in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 54 minutes into the game, Tyler McCraw cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Arthur Barns was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 57 minutes into the match, Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guy McIan. 59 minutes into the match, Lloyd McHutcheon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fergus Fairbairn. Rangers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lloyd McHutcheon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barry Gilbert in the 64th minute of play. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicholas Aspin, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Guy McIan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Fergus Fairbairn made a huge save. A collision led to Glasgow Rangers FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Barry Gilbert hit a great ball. Patrick Sporran was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 87 minutes into the match. In the 87th match minute, Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Sporran to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the match, Glasgow Rangers FC's Lloyd McHutcheon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fergus Fairbairn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barry Gilbert in the 92nd minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
