In the 2nd minute, Darius Robison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute, Ahmet Erdem Aras got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Callum Baxter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harry McFie's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute, Tyler McGilroy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute, Harry McFie made a precise shot to the right of Callum Baxter. Athletic Hearts's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Graham Peterkin kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Callum Baxter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry McFie in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Ahmet Erdem Aras ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ian McCabe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Harry McFie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ahmet Erdem Aras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romão Leão during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Athletic Hearts's Romão Leão got a free kick in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Athletic Hearts's goal looked a bit too open when Harry McFie came free, but Callum Baxter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ahmet Erdem Aras recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Davie McCaig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Callum Baxter having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry McFie in the 96th minute of play forced Athletic Hearts's goalkeeper Callum Baxter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Athletic Hearts's Romão Leão got a free kick in the 96th minute.
