With a little luck, Stromness's Stephen Lamont got control of the ball when Aaron McPhedran tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian McKersey in the 10th minute of play forced Stromness's goalkeeper Stephen Lamont to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th match minute, Stromness was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Lennie to maneuver through the defense. Vincent McKintosh hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Brian McKersey received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Stephen Lamont came out and tried to block the shot, but Brian McKersey slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 15th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Aaron McPhedran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Stephen Lamont was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 21 minutes, Aaron McPhedran made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Stromness's Stephen Lamont tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Stromness booed when Pure dead brilliant team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas Will didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aaron McPhedran's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Stephen Lamont firmly grabbed it by the left post. Stephen Lamont showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian McKersey in the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Aaron McPhedran made a precise shot to the right of Stephen Lamont. Stromness's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Stephen Lamont was a little too slow when Brian McKersey got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 6-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brian McKersey to strike the kick off in the second half. Stephen Lamont came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Pure dead brilliant team's Aaron McPhedran. But to his dismay, Aaron McPhedran quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. 60 minutes into the match, Stromness's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron McPhedran came free, but Stephen Lamont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stephen Lamont showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max McIvor in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron McPhedran in the 62nd minute of play forced Stromness's goalkeeper Stephen Lamont to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 minutes, Liam Docherty mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pure dead brilliant team and the Stromness players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Pure dead brilliant team's zone, Les McCaa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simon McChoiter came out of the goal and Les McCaa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aaron McPhedran in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stephen Lamont prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stephen Lamont showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron McPhedran, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by Stromness's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gary Caddell was slow to take the kick. During this time Pure dead brilliant team's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron McPhedran in the 84th minute of play forced Stromness's goalkeeper Stephen Lamont to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stephen Lamont showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron McPhedran in the 85th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Stromness's Phillip McAndrew got a free kick in the 87th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Pure dead brilliant team's Gary Caddell broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Aaron McPhedran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pure dead brilliant team's supporters rose to their feet, but Aaron McPhedran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stephen Lamont breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
