Arthur Barns was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Harry McFie showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 37 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harry McFie to make the kick off. Davie McCaig scored 3-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arthur Barns, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 73rd match minute, Glasgow Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Bean to maneuver through the defense. Kevin Greusach took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arthur Barns. Glasgow Rangers FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
