Arthur Barns had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Martin Johnstone's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Lochgelly's Shaun Porter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barry Gilbert in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lochgelly's Phillip Kenneth got a free kick in the 16th minute. Daniel Colquhoun charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Colquhoun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 20 played minutes Lochgelly got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Colquhoun. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barry Gilbert in the 26th minute of play forced Lochgelly's goalkeeper Shaun Porter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Barry Gilbert had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shaun Porter. Lochgelly's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barry Gilbert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Daniel Colquhoun was shown his second yellow card after 30 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Lochgelly getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Daniel Colquhoun hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Glasgow Rangers FC's Barry Gilbert dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Shaun Porter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Gilbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Glasgow Rangers FC fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Glasgow Rangers FC's Guy McIan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 47th minute, Martin Johnstone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Barry Gilbert made the kick off in the second half. When Will McKillop fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lochgelly's protests and gave Will McKillop a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd match minute, Lochgelly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Will McKillop to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barry Gilbert in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shaun Porter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Glasgow Rangers FC's Guy McIan got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Barry Gilbert scored 5-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shaun Porter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lochgelly's Gordon McGuire managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Nicholas Aspin in the 83 minute of the game. Arthur Barns made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Aaron Porter sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th minute, Barry Gilbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Glasgow Rangers FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Tommy Bean hit a great ball. The Glasgow Rangers FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
