Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 14th minute Raymond Johnston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shaun Porter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fergus Fairbairn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Johnstone in the 16th minute of play. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Colquhoun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Colquhoun kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After 31 minutes of play, Rangers FC's Raymond Johnston made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shaun Porter was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lochgelly's Shaun Porter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymond Johnston in the 34th minute of play. In the 41st minute Raymond Johnston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shaun Porter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darius Bontine charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Darius Bontine the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd match minute, Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darius Bontine to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Colquhoun kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After the first half Rangers FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martin Johnstone stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lochgelly's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raymond Johnston was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raymond Johnston in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shaun Porter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 72 minutes into the match, Rangers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Johnstone came free, but Fergus Fairbairn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Lochgelly's goal looked a bit too open when Keith McNiter came free, but Shaun Porter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Rangers FC were awarded a corner. Bradley Carr went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience was convinced that Raymond Johnston's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Shaun Porter was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Rangers FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bradley Carr in the 97th minute. Raymond Johnston came free with the goalkeeper in the 98th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Shaun Porter could save by the left post. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Lochgelly lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
