Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cameron Gilfillan in the 3rd minute of play forced Muir United's goalkeeper Nicky McEwan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Perth's Nicky McEwan threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cameron Gilfillan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 14 minutes into the match, Perth's goal looked a bit too open when Jay McKellar came free, but Tyler Graham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathan Combie during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jonathan Combie hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Nicky McEwan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 31 minutes into the game, Muir United's Rupert Campbell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tyler Graham made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 35th minute, Simon Duffy made a precise shot to the right of Nicky McEwan. Muir United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Muir United's Nicky McEwan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Muir United from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Perth's Jacob Barton got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Perth's Tyler Graham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rupert Campbell in the 43rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Larry McLulich in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tyler Graham prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rupert Campbell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Perth's Bob Carlyle got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute Cameron Gilfillan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicky McEwan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tyler Graham made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rupert Campbell in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute Johnny Currie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicky McEwan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bob Carlyle took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nicky McEwan. After a defensive mix-up in Perth's zone, Rupert Campbell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tyler Graham came out of the goal and Rupert Campbell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Danny Baxter fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Perth's protests and gave Danny Baxter a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th minute Jay McKellar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyler Graham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 87 played minutes Perth got a freekick which was hit by Danny Baxter. After having played for 90 minutes, Rupert Campbell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muir United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rupert Campbell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 90 played minutes Perth got a freekick which was hit by Bob Carlyle. Rupert Campbell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Tyler Graham made a huge save. Simon Duffy struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Nicky McEwan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perth. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Perth fully deserved thier win.
