Scotland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dundee Rovers the free kick. Ricky Lean kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the game, Nick McDonachie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Grant McIlvora was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Dundee Rovers's Gus Simpson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Grant McIlvora. That made the score 3-0 after 18 minutes of play. 21 minutes into the match, Scotland's goalkeeper Grant McIlvora had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gus Simpson. In the 26th minute Gus Simpson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant McIlvora saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th match minute, Scotland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Agnew to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Oliver McIlvride sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Scotland's Grant McIlvora didn't even have to move. Scotland's Grant McIlvora proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Scotland from getting a goal against them. In the 36th match minute, Scotland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Lean to maneuver through the defense. After 47 played minutes Dundee Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Walter Munn. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Wágner Guedes made the kick off in the second half. Duda Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brandon Borthwick having to interfere. Oliver McIlvride struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Grant McIlvora didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dundee Rovers. Grant McIlvora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick McDonachie in the 60th minute of play. Duda Saldanha came free with the goalkeeper in the 65th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Brandon Borthwick could save by the left post. The supporters of Scotland booed when Dundee Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dean Dyer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grant McIlvora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver McIlvride in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick McDonachie in the 73rd minute of play forced Scotland's goalkeeper Grant McIlvora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oliver McIlvride scored 5-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Grant McIlvora, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th match minute, Dundee Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nick McDonachie to maneuver through the defense. Nick McDonachie hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If Wágner Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Nick McDonachie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick McDonachie in the 88th minute of play forced Scotland's goalkeeper Grant McIlvora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oliver McIlvride scored 7-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Grant McIlvora, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dundee Rovers fully deserved thier win.
