Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Les Buntain kicked off to start the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tony McLardy during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tony McLardy hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 4 minutes into the match, Dundee Rovers's Oliver McIlvride sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sean McEoin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Brandon Borthwick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Les Buntain in the 7th minute of play. Nick McDonachie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 played minutes Dundee Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Josh Galloway. The Dundee Rovers fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Dundee Rovers's Nick McDonachie looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sean McEoin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver McIlvride, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Nick McDonachie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean McEoin having to interfere. In the 26th minute Oliver McIlvride shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean McEoin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Oliver McIlvride's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sean McEoin was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Rory Williamson's late challenge caught a Dundee Rovers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rory Williamson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Dundee Rovers booed when Stirling was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rory Williamson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sean McEoin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nick McDonachie's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nick McDonachie in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sean McEoin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Oliver McIlvride recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sean McEoin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick McDonachie in the 45th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Oliver McIlvride managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dundee Rovers's supporters rose to their feet, but Oliver McIlvride was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sean McEoin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nick McDonachie to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Les Buntain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brandon Borthwick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dundee Rovers's Brandon Borthwick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Les Buntain in the 52nd minute of play. After 70th play minutes Nick McDonachie shot 1-3, a short shot which went by Sean McEoin and just under the crossbar into goal. Nick McDonachie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sean McEoin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Nick McDonachie who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Sean McEoin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nick McDonachie in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sean McEoin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nick McDonachies short, quick shot in the 79thth minute got Sean McEoin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 81st minute, Les Buntain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, Oliver McIlvride got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Josh Galloway hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Dundee Rovers's zone, Sean McHardy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brandon Borthwick came out of the goal and Sean McHardy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
