Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cameron Gilfillan took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th match minute, Golspie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harold McPhater to maneuver through the defense. Golspie's James Elliott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Duffy in the 5th minute of play. 5 minutes into the game, Graeme Elliott was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Golspie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Perth the free kick. A collision led to Golspie getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Graeme Elliott hit a great ball. James Elliott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Duffy in the 9th minute of play. In the 9th minute, one of Perth:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Perth. Ken Bowmaker shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Simon Duffy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. James Elliott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cameron Gilfillan in the 15th minute of play. In the 21st minute Simon Duffy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but James Elliott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. James Elliott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Duffy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but James Elliott showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 30th minute, Johnny Currie ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. James Elliott was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Euan Basnett's late challenge caught a Perth's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Euan Basnett helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Perth booed when Golspie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Euan Basnett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Golspie's James Elliott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnny Currie in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Golspie's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Duffy came free, but James Elliott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Currie in the 46th minute of play forced Golspie's goalkeeper James Elliott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Golspie players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Perth were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ken Bowmaker to make the kick off. James Elliott came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Perth's Johnny Currie. But to his dismay, Johnny Currie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After having played for 56 minutes, Ken Bowmaker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golspie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ken Bowmaker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Golspie's Euan Basnett got his second yellow card of the match in the 60th minute. The referee ordered Euan Basnett off the ground. Tyler Graham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harold McPhater, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, Golspie's goalkeeper James Elliott had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simon Duffy. Johnny Currie took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised James Elliott. James Elliott dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harold McPhater in the 73rd minute of play forced Perth's goalkeeper Tyler Graham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute of the match, Simon Duffy got a very nice opportunity to score, but James Elliott was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. James Elliott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnny Currie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ken Bowmaker lost his temper 77 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Golspie! James Elliott showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnny Currie in the 81st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Currie in the 83rd minute of play forced Golspie's goalkeeper James Elliott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Graeme Elliott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 94 played minutes Golspie got a freekick which was hit by Josh Hawes. James Elliott acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 95th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Bob Carlyle. In the 96th play minute Johnny Currie came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised James Elliott. 0-6. Perth's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
