Emilio Petricca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm McKechnie having to interfere. The supporters of grangemouth booed when Tranent City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenny Higginson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Petricca in the 11th minute of play forced Tranent City's goalkeeper Malcolm McKechnie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Neil McLeverty came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the grangemouth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Neil McLeverty couldn't finish the play. 13 minutes into the match, grangemouth's Emilio Petricca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Malcolm McKechnie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Malcolm McKechnie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emilio Petricca's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Edmond Niven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm McKechnie having to interfere. In the 20th minute Emilio Petricca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm McKechnie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute of the match grangemouth got a corner. Tranent City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tommy McKilligan ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Tommy McKilligan almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Tranent City's Malcolm McKechnie did a great save. Edmond Niven struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Malcolm McKechnie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for grangemouth. Emilio Petricca had several of the Tranent City's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 31 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Malcolm McKechnie as he didn't even see the shot coming. Edmond Niven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Malcolm McKechnie managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when grangemouth's Emilio Petricca fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emilio Petricca to make the kick off. Emilio Petricca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Malcolm McKechnie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Emilio Petricca made a precise shot to the right of Malcolm McKechnie. Tranent City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Malcolm McKechnie came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by grangemouth's Emilio Petricca. But to his dismay, Emilio Petricca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Pitt Frøne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theo McLagan, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Neil McLeverty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm McKechnie having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Andy McGorrie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Quentin Bowers hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the game, Emilio Petricca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Malcolm McKechnie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th minute, Neil McLeverty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pitt Frøne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo McLagan in the 92nd minute of play. Rob McIlwhom hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After 97 minutes of play, grangemouth's Emilio Petricca made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Malcolm McKechnie was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee ended the match the grangemouth players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
