Spectators: 9239 (Terracing: 6930,
Seating: 2125, VIP seats: 184) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Les McFarlane started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Eric McIssac made a precise shot to the right of Frank Allan. Greenock's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Les McFarlane recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iain Hawes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Moray, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Greenock's zone, Les McFarlane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frank Allan came out of the goal and Les McFarlane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, Les McFarlane notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Greenock's Frank Allan. Frank Allan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 24th minute, Eric McIssac reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Frank Allan. The goal made the score 4-0. Eric McIssac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugh Beath hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute Douglas Hutchinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iain Hawes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Les McFarlane got free with Frank Allan in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Les McFarlane got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 6-0. 35 minutes into the match. Frank Allan came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Dragons Academy's Les McFarlane. But to his dismay, Les McFarlane quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Douglas Hutchinson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Dragons Academy's Les McFarlane nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frank Allan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Frank Allan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric McIssac in the 55th minute of the match. 55 minutes into the match, Eric McIssac notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Greenock's Frank Allan. Frank Allan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ian Moray kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Eric McIssac left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dragons Academy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. In the 65thth minute of the game Les McFarlane who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Greenock's Frank Allan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Les McFarlane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Frank Allan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eric McIssac's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frank Allan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. After 70 played minutes Dragons Academy got a freekick which was hit by Greg Clyne. After having played for 74 minutes, Les McFarlane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dragons Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Les McFarlane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Allan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric McIssac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Les McFarlane put it in 11-0 from a short distance just to the right of Frank Allan. In the 81st minute, Les McFarlane left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dragons Academy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 12-0. In the 84th minute, Conor Lawrie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eric McIssac scored 13-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frank Allan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Les McFarlane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, Eric McIssac notched a goal, 14-0, to the right of Greenock's Frank Allan. Frank Allan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that Dragons Academy were the better team. Dragons Academy's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
