Spectators: 10807 (Terracing: 8107, Seating: 2485, VIP seats: 215) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Graeme McRobie started the match with the kick off. Colin Booth didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 3rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Smiddy Celts's Graeme McRobie was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 5th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Will Neil during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Gavião Kyikatejê booed when Smiddy Celts was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Will Neil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colin Booth came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Smiddy Celts's Paddy Thomson. But to his dismay, Paddy Thomson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Colin Booth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Graeme McRobie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jesse McJames made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Gilespie in the 23rd minute of play. Bob McMillan kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Phillip McKeochan took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Colin Booth. Colin Booth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Graeme McRobie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Colin Booth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, Gavião Kyikatejê was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Innes McWalter to maneuver through the defense. Phillip McKeochan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gregor Nelson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Graeme McRobie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Colin Booth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Phillip McKeochan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Smiddy Celts fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. In the 57th minute, Phillip McKeochan made a precise shot to the right of Colin Booth. Gavião Kyikatejê's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Smiddy Celts made a substitution. Wal McVean replaced Mbadiwe Mpenza. Innes McWalter kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Smiddy Celts's Sean McDrain was substituted for Graeme Gordon. Graeme McRobie scored 7-0 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Colin Booth, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Graeme McRobie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Colin Booth having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Gavião Kyikatejê's goal looked a bit too open when Graeme McRobie came free, but Colin Booth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Colin Booth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phillip McKeochan, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. A collision led to Gavião Kyikatejê getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Max Gilespie hit a great ball. After having played for 87 minutes, Phillip McKeochan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Smiddy Celts's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phillip McKeochan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Colin Booth came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Smiddy Celts's Phillip McKeochan. But to his dismay, Phillip McKeochan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Smiddy Celts had played much better football throughout.
