The audience was convinced that Douglas McTire's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leopoldo Rameriz was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Jason Clayton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jamie Federith, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Clitasaurus's zone, Jamie Federith stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jason Clayton came out of the goal and Jamie Federith tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wayne McLamond hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Leopoldo Rameriz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steven Mein in the 28th minute of the match. After taking down the ball on FC Clitasaurus's corner Benjamin Duffus fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Leopoldo Rameriz quite easily take care of the ball. FC Clitasaurus's Jason Clayton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dean Loudoun in the 36th minute of play. Matthew McGillonie charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matthew McGillonie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 38 played minutes FC Clitasaurus got a freekick which was hit by Lee Donillson. In the 41st minute, Pasi Grönvall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute, FC Clitasaurus's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Matthew McGillonie fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 43rdth minute of the game Douglas McTire who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alloa Golden Blades's Leopoldo Rameriz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leopoldo Rameriz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas McTire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Dean Loudoun in the 54th minute of play forced FC Clitasaurus's goalkeeper Jason Clayton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute Wayne McLamond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jason Clayton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Clitasaurus getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Damian Bambas hit a great ball. Jason Clayton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dean Loudoun's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. In the 66thth minute of the game Dean Loudoun who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Clitasaurus's Jason Clayton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, FC Clitasaurus's goal looked a bit too open when Wayne McLamond came free, but Jason Clayton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Alloa Golden Blades booed when FC Clitasaurus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven Mein didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 70 played minutes FC Clitasaurus got a freekick which was hit by Steven Mein. Leopoldo Rameriz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lee Donillson in the 71st minute. In the 73rd minute Troy Baker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jason Clayton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Patrik Pååk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jason Clayton. FC Clitasaurus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patrik Pååk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When Douglas McTire came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the FC Clitasaurus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas McTire couldn't finish the play. Benjamin Duffus kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Alloa Golden Blades's goalkeeper Leopoldo Rameriz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lee Donillson. In the 85th minute, Pasi Grönvall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 91 played minutes FC Clitasaurus got a freekick which was hit by Damian Bambas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dean Loudoun in the 93rd minute of play forced FC Clitasaurus's goalkeeper Jason Clayton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Alloa Golden Blades fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Clitasaurus had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
