Spectators: 6641 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1641, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Joel Sequeira kicked off to start the match. If Joel Sequeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Sequeira in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Severino Varela saved MaiaStars FC from getting behind. Donato Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Severino Varela made a huge save. After 14 played minutes SC Brincos got a freekick which was hit by Avelino Pimentel. If Torcato Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramiro Regueira hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Ricardo Aragão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torcato Prestes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. MaiaStars FC's Torcato Prestes got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Torcato Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Sequeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Varela having to interfere. Joel Sequeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ricardo Aragão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesualdo Matias in the 44th minute of play. If Joel Sequeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, SC Brincos's Donato Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Severino Varela narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Jesualdo Matias made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Ramiro Regueira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Severino Varela showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 54 minutes, Vicente Câmara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MaiaStars FC and the SC Brincos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th minute, Vicente Câmara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donato Alcântara in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severino Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Isac Sampaio took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Severino Varela. Severino Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Jacinto Avelar's late challenge caught a SC Brincos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacinto Avelar helped the player get up and apologised. Jacinto Avelar hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, SC Brincos's Claudemiro Guarda tried to score from far away in the 76th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Joel Sequeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Severino Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Torcato Prestes succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 85th playminute. If Vicente Câmara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. MaiaStars FC's Jesualdo Matias got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, SC Brincos's Isac Sampaio got a free kick in the 95th minute. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when MaiaStars FC's Jesualdo Matias in the 96th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Ricardo Aragão was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for SC Brincos through an amazing save. MaiaStars FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
