In the 30th minute, Hilário Lucena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Samarao FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. The Ameixial fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filipe Ribas should have stopped the shot. In the 43rd minute Adolfo Caneira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filipe Ribas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mário Quaresma to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 58 minutes, Gastão Brites managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Samarao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gastão Brites was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 59 played minutes Ameixial got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Conde. Thanks to some nice moves Gastão Brites could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Filipe Ribas however easily saved by the left post. In the 69th minute, Gastão Brites fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Adolfo Caneira might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filipe Ribas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adolfo Caneira ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Adolfo Caneira took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Filipe Ribas to make any attempt to save it. Gastão Brites sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
