Cândido Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 6 minutes into the match, Manuel Andrade notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SC Sardos's António Cunha. António Cunha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Adjusta's Cândido Barbosa got control of the ball when Gonçalo Tavares tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 10th minute, Eusébio Gueifão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Sardos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Tiago Simões took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for António Cunha. SC Sardos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Diamantino Faro charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diamantino Faro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Adjusta were furious when Emílio Lopes was red carded, 21 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 20th minute, one of Adjusta:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Adjusta. Cândido Barbosa didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when SC Sardos's Gonçalo Tavares shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Gonçalo Tavares was extremely unlucky when he, in the 29th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 39th minute, Jorge Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gonçalo Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

Cândido Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Tavares in the 51st minute of the match. If Eusébio Gueifão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 54 minutes of play, Adjusta's Diamantino Faro made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. António Cunha was left in no man's land by his defense there! 5-2 became the score in the 58th minute when Gonçalo Tavares elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Basílio Gueifão was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 62 minutes into the match. The supporters of Adjusta booed when SC Sardos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Gueifão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Adjusta's goalkeeper Cândido Barbosa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cândido Barbosa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gonçalo Tavares's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. 68 minutes into the match, SC Sardos's goal looked a bit too open when Diamantino Faro came free, but António Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonçalo Tavares in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cândido Barbosa saved Adjusta from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Jorge Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Sardos's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Brito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cândido Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SC Sardos's Eusébio Gueifão got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Gonçalo Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Sardos's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonçalo Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cândido Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee ended the match the SC Sardos players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
