The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Edvaldo Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When VANNOZZI F.C.'s Abel Paredes in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 10 minutes, Abel Paredes made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Monsanto's Damião Patrício tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 19th match minute, Monsanto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albérico Bessa to maneuver through the defense. Damião Patrício made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Paredes in the 20th minute of play. Pedro Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abel Paredes in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damião Patrício prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edvaldo Aguiar struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Damião Patrício didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VANNOZZI F.C.. 28 minutes into the game, VANNOZZI F.C.'s Abel Paredes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Damião Patrício made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Damião Patrício showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvaldo Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After 45 minutes, Albérico Bessa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monsanto and the VANNOZZI F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 45 played minutes Monsanto got a freekick which was hit by Albérico Bessa. Monsanto's Damião Patrício played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Paredes in the 47th minute of play. After the first half VANNOZZI F.C. were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abel Paredes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Monsanto got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Prada. Edvaldo Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After 61 minutes, Catarino Ribeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VANNOZZI F.C. and the Monsanto players grew even worse after the yellow card. Monsanto's Henrique Lousada got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jaime Peixoto's late challenge caught a VANNOZZI F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaime Peixoto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th minute, André Pires sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Monsanto's Damião Patrício didn't even have to move. A collision led to Monsanto getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Albérico Bessa hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel Paredes in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damião Patrício saved Monsanto from getting behind. The supporters of VANNOZZI F.C. booed when Monsanto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Abel Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot. VANNOZZI F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Paredes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damião Patrício breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Monsanto's Damião Patrício played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Paredes in the 90th minute of play.
