Igor Buinton might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicolau Bernardes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Igor Buinton ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hildeberto Freitas in the 12th minute of play forced ADRC Palmaz's goalkeeper Vítor Aleixo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Ovar's Vítor Aleixo threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseu Linhares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Vítor Aleixo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hildeberto Freitas in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Ovar's Hildeberto Freitas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vítor Aleixo. Vítor Aleixo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Ovar's Vivaldo Figueiras got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ovar booed when ADRC Palmaz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Vivaldo Figueiras recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vítor Aleixo. Vivaldo Figueiras showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 37th minute, Igor Buinton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. ADRC Palmaz were furious when Jorge Pereira was red carded, 41 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ADRC Palmaz! The goalkeeper, Vítor Aleixo, was totally fooled by Ovar's Manuel Malta, who 44 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Vítor Aleixo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Quental, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of ADRC Palmaz booed when Ovar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 played minutes ADRC Palmaz got a freekick which was hit by Sezai Kinay. ADRC Palmaz's Vítor Aleixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Linhares in the 62nd minute of play.
