When Pedro Vale came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Pepe fans jumped to their feet. Pepe's Gil Carvalho suffered a concussion after 25 minutes and had to leave the field. 26 minutes into the game, Hilário Guerra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clareanes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pepe the free kick. The supporters of Pepe booed when Clareanes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hilário Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Álvaro Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The wind increased when Sebastião Paredes made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Clareanes's Baltasar Nogueira got control of the ball when Sebastião Paredes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Álvaro Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltasar Nogueira having to interfere. Sebastião Paredes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute, Fernando Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Álvaro Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Jorge Trindade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pepe's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Trindade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baltasar Nogueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 70 played minutes Clareanes got a freekick which was hit by Donato Tinoco. Jorge Trindade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Clareanes's zone, Álvaro Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltasar Nogueira came out of the goal and Álvaro Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Clareanes getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Silvano Quintela hit a great ball. Pedro Vale took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baltasar Nogueira. Baltasar Nogueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Álvaro Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Baltasar Nogueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Clareanes's Baltasar Nogueira got control of the ball when Sebastião Paredes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 96th minute, Pepe's Pedro Vale dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. When the final whistle sounded Pepe left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Clareanes.
