Spectators: 6673 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Afonso Baptista made the kick off which started today's match. When Amadeu Lisboa fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Almoinhas's protests and gave Amadeu Lisboa a yellow card for diving instead. Amadeu Lisboa hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Armindo Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Nunes in the 6th minute of play. The supporters of SC Almoinhas booed when SC Penela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aep Sarbini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 17 minutes into the match, SC Almoinhas's goal looked a bit too open when Filipe Nunes came free, but Armindo Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aep Sarbini struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Armindo Cardoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Penela. The crowd rose to their feet as Afonso Baptista kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jose Ventura. That made the score 1-1 in the 21 minute of play. After 27 minutes of play, SC Penela's Aep Sarbini made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armindo Cardoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 34th match minute, SC Almoinhas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Tavares to maneuver through the defense. Tomás Barbosa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Armindo Cardoso. SC Almoinhas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 38th minute, Filipe Nunes made a precise shot to the right of Armindo Cardoso. SC Almoinhas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 45 minutes into the game, SC Penela's Filipe Nunes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Armindo Cardoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. After the first half SC Penela were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

SC Penela's Jose Ventura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Baptista in the 51st minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, SC Penela's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Baptista came free, but Jose Ventura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aep Sarbini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to SC Almoinhas getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Amadeu Lisboa hit a great ball. If Afonso Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, SC Almoinhas's goalkeeper Armindo Cardoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filipe Nunes. Jose Ventura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Baptista in the 87th minute of play. Afonso Baptista scored 2-5 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jose Ventura, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júlio Vale got free with Armindo Cardoso in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Filipe Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Penela's supporters rose to their feet, but Filipe Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armindo Cardoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rui Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aep Sarbini might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armindo Cardoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aep Sarbini ran back to his position shaking his head. SC Penela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
