But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guilherme Rangel couldn't finish the play. Duarte Ferro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Rangel in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Mariano Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Guilherme Rangel came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the SC Cancinhola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guilherme Rangel couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute of the match SC Cancinhola got a corner. Polvoreira's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lisandro Quadros ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led SC Cancinhola's Lisandro Quadros to fire away a dangerous shot which Duarte Ferro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Almiro Aleixo fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Cancinhola's protests and gave Almiro Aleixo a yellow card for diving instead. Almiro Aleixo kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. A collision led to SC Cancinhola getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Guilherme Rangel hit a great ball. Vítor Cerqueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the match, Polvoreira's goalkeeper Duarte Ferro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Almiro Aleixo. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Cancinhola's goalkeeper Vítor Cerqueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, SC Cancinhola's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Leite came free, but Vítor Cerqueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Augusto Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Cerqueira having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guilherme Rangel to make the kick off. In the 57th match minute, Polvoreira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Paiva to maneuver through the defense. Augusto Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Cerqueira having to interfere. After having played for 68 minutes, Jaime Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Polvoreira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute, Mariano Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Leite in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vítor Cerqueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Polvoreira's Augusto Leite slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vítor Cerqueira. That made the score 0-2 after 84 minutes of play. 88 minutes into the game, Polvoreira's Joaquim Antunes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vítor Cerqueira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Polvoreira's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
