After taking down the ball on S.L.Benfica's corner Albérico Moreira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eusébio Morais quite easily take care of the ball. Éder Assis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaspar Pacheco in the 22nd minute of play. The wind increased when Fernando Barbosa made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Albérico Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 53 minutes into the match, Marmoiral's Joel Guerreiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Éder Assis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Júlio Leão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Marmoiral booed when S.L.Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lisandro Setúbal didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Diogo Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.L.Benfica's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Morais breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of S.L.Benfica booed when Marmoiral was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Ferro didn't get a good kick on the ball. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Marmoiral would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
