In the 15th match minute, Vareiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Bacelar got free with Vicente Rocha in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vareiros's Vicente Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto Gueifão in the 45th minute of play. Mariano Maltez hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47th match minute, SC Arrabal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damião Arruda to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

SC Arrabal were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
