After 6 minutes, Gualter Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the EtaSilvaresFC and the Nordeste FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lúcio Leiria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Lessa in the 20th minute of play. With a little luck, EtaSilvaresFC's Adolfo Bezerra got control of the ball when Pedro Dantas tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rdth minute of the game Daniel Lessa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nordeste FC's Lúcio Leiria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, EtaSilvaresFC's Raul Ventura got a free kick in the 30th minute. After a defensive mix-up in EtaSilvaresFC's zone, Pedro Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Bezerra came out of the goal and Pedro Dantas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Adolfo Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half EtaSilvaresFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Lessa to make the kick off. EtaSilvaresFC's Nélson Aguiar came free and shot a quick shot against goal 56 minutes in the game, fortunately Lúcio Leiria had problems saving as it came toward the left post.
