With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henrique Assunção in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hilário Rebelo saved Carreira FC from getting behind. Hilário Rebelo made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Leonardo Braga sent off a good shot on target. When Leonardo Braga came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the SC Cascais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonardo Braga couldn't finish the play. Carreira FC's Laureano Pedroso got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Corte-Real in the 44th minute of play forced SC Cascais's goalkeeper Adélio Morais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Carreira FC booed when SC Cascais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sálvio Rangel hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Cascais's zone, Laureano Pedroso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adélio Morais came out of the goal and Laureano Pedroso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomé Lencastre during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
