An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Simões in the 17th minute of play forced SC Oliveiras's goalkeeper Xavier Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Kevin Zambujal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Oliveiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gaita FC the free kick. Kevin Zambujal kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Oliveiras's zone, Nuno Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xavier Madureira came out of the goal and Nuno Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Gaita FC's Carlos Oliveira got a free kick in the 26th minute. Bernardo Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Xavier Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Gaita FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Zambujal came free, but Eusébio Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Gaita FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. If Bernardo Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Bernardo Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernardo Simões was the one to do the kick off. Gaita FC's Eusébio Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Raminhos in the 53rd minute of play. Xavier Madureira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nuno Simões went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Xavier Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 75th minute of the match Gonçalo Freitas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xavier Madureira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eusébio Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Raminhos in the 76th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Catarino Vidigal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Oliveiras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Bernardo Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavier Madureira having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Bernardo Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gaita FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardo Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xavier Madureira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xavier Madureira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nuno Simões went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. Gonçalo Freitas's late challenge caught a SC Oliveiras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gonçalo Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. Gonçalo Freitas hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When Hermano Maltez came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the SC Oliveiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermano Maltez couldn't finish the play.
