The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Sabugal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Gueifão to maneuver through the defense. After 4 minutes of play, Interviú's Jan-Åke Sjögren made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo Correia was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 9th minute, Fábio Macedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gabriel Mendes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 13th minute Jorge Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomás Sousa scored 2-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Correia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joaquim Valente's late challenge caught a Interviú's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Valente helped the player get up and apologised. After 25 played minutes Sabugal FC got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Gueifão. In the 28th minute, Fábio Macedo made a precise shot to the right of Gabriel Mendes. Interviú's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Sabugal FC's Paulo Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Sousa in the 34th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Ferreira in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gabriel Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute, Joaquim Valente ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gabriel Mendes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Gabriel Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Macedo in the 45th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Ferreira in the 47th minute of play forced Interviú's goalkeeper Gabriel Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan-Åke Sjögren was the one to do the kick off. Gabriel Mendes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorge Ferreira went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. In the 76th minute, Jorge Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan-Åke Sjögren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Åke Sjögren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Correia having to interfere. Jan-Åke Sjögren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Paulo Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Åke Sjögren, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute.
