Basílio Aleixo hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Sesmarias's David Domingues got control of the ball when Vítor Eiró tried to sneak it across the goal line. Os Patinhos's Quintino Torcato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Leal in the 15th minute of play. Artur Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Vítor Eiró had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacinto Conde had several of the Sesmarias's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 28 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed David Domingues as he didn't even see the shot coming. Jacinto Conde was extremely unlucky when he, in the 31st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Manuel Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Quintino Torcato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Filipe Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute, Silvério Távora ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Domingues was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Manuel Araújo charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
