Eurico Castilho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remus Savu in the 46th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Márcio Guterres during the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Albertino Mota struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Eurico Castilho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Clube Madeira. Jesualdo Rego fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pertev Emir having to interfere. Eurico Castilho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Remus Savu went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. When the final whistle sounded Sporting Clube Madeira left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Vitória de Coimbra SC.
