Cristóvão Neto hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Torrinheiras's zone, Zeferino Bettencourt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Fonseca came out of the goal and Zeferino Bettencourt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Afonso Henriques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Viriato Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Enzo Távora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Joaquim Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enzo Távora in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquim Fonseca saved SC Torrinheiras from getting behind. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Palmiro Raminhos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Fonseca having to interfere. In the 54th minute Zeferino Bettencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 57 in the game by Zeferino Bettencourt from a close distance when the talented Joaquim Fonseca managed to make a qualified save. SC Torrinheiras's players were relieved. After 83 minutes, Cristóvão Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Torrinheiras and the CHLC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cristóvão Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Joaquim Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeferino Bettencourt in the 90th minute of play. After some careless play in the SC Torrinheiras defense, Zeferino Bettencourt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquim Fonseca. The SC Torrinheiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquim Fonseca should have stopped the shot. CHLC's Anselmo Figueiredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Henriques in the 94th minute of play. CHLC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
