Adérito Figueira might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Óscar Martins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adérito Figueira ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute João Moniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Conde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Graciosa getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Mário Leal hit a great ball. In the 27th minute of the match, Jordão Bentes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Óscar Martins saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adérito Figueira got free with Óscar Martins in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adérito Figueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 37 minutes, João Moniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Graciosa's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Moniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonel Conde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Leal in the 39th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, Graciosa's João Moniz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonel Conde made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After the first half Graciosa were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Moniz to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Fernandaires's goalkeeper Leonel Conde had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mário Leal. Óscar Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adérito Figueira in the 54th minute of play. Óscar Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adérito Figueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Graciosa's goal looked a bit too open when Jordão Bentes came free, but Óscar Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jordão Bentes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute, João Moniz fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Leonel Conde, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Fernandaires booed when Graciosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reinaldo Semedo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Óscar Martins. Graciosa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. João Moniz might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonel Conde. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Moniz ran back to his position shaking his head. The Graciosa fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Graciosa's Mário Leal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Adérito Figueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th match minute, Graciosa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Vieira to maneuver through the defense. Jordão Bentes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd minute, Idalécio Salgado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
