Salvador Mourinho came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Loureda FC's Diamantino Sousa. But to his dismay, Diamantino Sousa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Portimao's João Aleixo got a free kick in the 12th minute. Nuno Esteves, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Fábio Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Salvador Mourinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Fábio Miranda came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Loureda FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fábio Miranda couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diogo Fontes in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salvador Mourinho saved Portimao from getting behind. In the 23rd minute Diogo Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Mourinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fábio Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salvador Mourinho having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Diogo Fontes in the 26th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. A collision led to Portimao getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Nivaldo Valente hit a great ball. Salvador Mourinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Fontes in the 33rd minute of the match. Diogo Fontes took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Salvador Mourinho. Salvador Mourinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Gustavo Silva made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Valdemar Junqueira sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Portimao getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Nivaldo Valente hit a great ball. After having played for 41 minutes, Diogo Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Loureda FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diogo Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Portimao's Salvador Mourinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Fontes in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diogo Fontes made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Fontes in the 52nd minute of play forced Portimao's goalkeeper Salvador Mourinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fábio Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salvador Mourinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute of the game, Fábio Esteves landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. In the 69th match minute, Portimao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar Junqueira to maneuver through the defense. Fábio Miranda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Salvador Mourinho made a huge save. If Fábio Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fábio Miranda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Salvador Mourinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. With a little luck, Portimao's Salvador Mourinho got control of the ball when Fábio Miranda tried to sneak it across the goal line. 85 minutes into the game, Fábio Miranda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Salvador Mourinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
