A collision led to Carocha FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Zeferino Junqueira hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 7th minute by António Cunha got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Matias Sá came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Carocha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matias Sá couldn't finish the play. Celso Perdigão made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when António Cunha sent off a good shot on target. Paulo Graça made in the 16th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Luís Malafaia however managed to control. In the 20th minute, António Cunha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cruzeiro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. A collision led to Carocha FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Luís Malafaia hit a great ball. Lúcio Brás sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. António Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Celso Perdigão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gonçalo Campos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Malafaia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Humberto Pacheco scored 2-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celso Perdigão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Luís Malafaia made the kick off in the second half. Celso Perdigão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Cunha in the 54th minute of play. Paulo Graça made in the 59th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Cruzeiro FC's Humberto Pacheco. António Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Celso Perdigão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. António Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 72 played minutes Carocha FC got a freekick which was hit by Zeferino Junqueira. When António Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Cruzeiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Cunha couldn't finish the play. Paulo Graça made in the 78th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Luís Malafaia immediately put the ball in play. Cruzeiro FC's Gonçalo Campos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Malafaia in the 83rd minute of play. António Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albertino Barroso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Gonçalo Campos made a huge save. If Albertino Barroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cruzeiro FC fully deserved thier win.
