Spectators: 7229 (Terracing: 5423, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mariano Leiria started the match with the kick off. When Domingos Guerreiro fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Castanhos FC's protests and gave Domingos Guerreiro a yellow card for diving instead. Domingos Guerreiro hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Mariano Leiria was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 9th minute. Castanhos FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Joel Vargas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Leiria in the 9th minute of play. Bento Jesus made a great header on Castanhos FC's corner, it was just that SC Alcaravela's Joel Vargas managed to reach the ball for a save. Amílcar Pacheco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Esparteiro in the 16th minute of play. Adriano Sacadura kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Heitor Pereira might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Vargas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Heitor Pereira ran back to his position shaking his head. Mariano Leiria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Vargas having to interfere. Castanhos FC's Amílcar Pacheco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Ferrão in the 23rd minute of play. Amílcar Pacheco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogério Horta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Castanhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Ferrão came free, but Amílcar Pacheco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Lisandro Esparteiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Alcaravela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castanhos FC the free kick. Lisandro Esparteiro hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Rogério Horta managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Alcaravela's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogério Horta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílcar Pacheco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A collision led to SC Alcaravela getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Duarte Menezes hit a great ball. After some careless play in the SC Alcaravela defense, Mariano Leiria kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Vargas. The SC Alcaravela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Vargas should have stopped the shot. Rogério Horta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Amílcar Pacheco made a huge save. After 68 played minutes Manuel Ferrão rounded Castanhos FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. After 72 played minutes SC Alcaravela got a freekick which was hit by Lisandro Esparteiro. Joel Vargas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Leiria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Ferrão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Amílcar Pacheco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, SC Alcaravela's Lisandro Esparteiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amílcar Pacheco. Amílcar Pacheco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The Castanhos FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Alcaravela were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
