Laureano Rodrigues was extremely unlucky when he, in the 5th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Viriato Neto, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 11 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Laureano Mansilha was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gonçalo Amaro in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Laureano Mansilha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Penafiel's Viriato Neto got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Viriato Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Mansilha having to interfere. Raimundo Malheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Viriato Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gonçalo Amaro came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Penafiel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonçalo Amaro couldn't finish the play. 34 minutes into the match, Penafiel's goalkeeper Rui Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laureano Rodrigues. Laureano Mansilha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Apelaçao Fc's Laureano Mansilha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo Amaro in the 45th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viriato Neto made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, one of Penafiel:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Bernardo Amado placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! If Laureano Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laureano Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
