The supporters of FC PORTO booed when SLBarosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 19 played minutes FC PORTO got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Aguiar. After 26 played minutes FC PORTO got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Costa. After a rather tough play, SLBarosa's Rogério Borges got a free kick in the 27th minute. Rui Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 31 minutes, Ladislao Mateo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC PORTO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ladislao Mateo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the game, Ladislao Mateo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rui Martins. Ladislao Mateo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Reha Tandan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Guerreiro having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conrado Otsoko to make the kick off. SLBarosa's Rui Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Mateo in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Álvaro Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 62 minutes, Gonçalo Moura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SLBarosa and the FC PORTO players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gonçalo Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Lúcio Marques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rui Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ladislao Mateo in the 76th minute of the match. SLBarosa's Rui Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Aguiar in the 82nd minute of play. Ladislao Mateo took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rui Martins. Rui Martins dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Conrado Otsoko scored 3-2 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rui Martins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Otsoko in the 91st minute of play forced SLBarosa's goalkeeper Rui Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lúcio Marques took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basílio Guerreiro. Basílio Guerreiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. When Gaspar Freitas fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC PORTO's protests and gave Gaspar Freitas a yellow card for diving instead. After 97 played minutes FC PORTO got a freekick which was hit by Gaspar Freitas. After 98 played minutes, SLBarosa's Paulo Martins shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Basílio Guerreiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SLBarosa reached it. SLBarosa succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though FC PORTO had controlled the match.
