André Luz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Éder Viveiros in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Luz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 23 in the game by Luciano Iruinea from a close distance when the talented Moisés Taveira managed to make a qualified save. SC Laranjeiras's players were relieved. Carlos Carvalhais sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the game, Marco Marques was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Lisboa e Olivais's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Laranjeiras the free kick. After 26 played minutes Sport Lisboa e Olivais got a freekick which was hit by Marco Marques. SC Laranjeiras's Éder Viveiros got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexandre Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, SC Laranjeiras's António Vargas tried to score from far away in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute Carlos Carvalhais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moisés Taveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Bessa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Laranjeiras:s Moisés Taveira showed great skill when he stopped Pedro Cardoso:s penalty. After the first half SC Laranjeiras were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luciano Iruinea was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, SC Laranjeiras's Durval Castro got a free kick in the 64th minute. Luciano Iruinea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Moisés Taveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Sport Lisboa e Olivais's goalkeeper André Luz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Éder Viveiros. Carlos Carvalhais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. André Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Bessa in the 74th minute of play forced SC Laranjeiras's goalkeeper Moisés Taveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Laranjeiras's Moisés Taveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaroslav Vavřín in the 77th minute of play. A collision led to SC Laranjeiras getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Óscar Fraga hit a great ball. After 80th play minutes Luciano Iruinea shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Moisés Taveira and just under the crossbar into goal. Fernando Bessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés Taveira having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Laranjeiras's Sabino Castelo Branco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of André Luz. That made the score 1-3 after 97 minutes of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Laranjeiras had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
