Frank Negri received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aldo Costante got free with Reinaldo Varela in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Despite this Reinaldo Varela quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time.
