With a little luck, Bensafrim's Eusébio Pedroso got control of the ball when Eliseu Candal tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 15th minute Amado Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusébio Pedroso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusébio Pedroso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amado Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Carvalho in the 21st minute of play forced Bensafrim's goalkeeper Eusébio Pedroso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eusébio Pedroso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Carvalho in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th match minute, SC Azinhal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lázaro Palha to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute of the match Jorge Faria shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cassiano Ferro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Carvalho in the 28th minute of play forced Bensafrim's goalkeeper Eusébio Pedroso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseu Candal got free with Eusébio Pedroso in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amado Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Pedroso having to interfere. Hermenegildo Madeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Eusébio Pedroso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

SC Azinhal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseu Candal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Sérgio Paiva fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bensafrim's protests and gave Sérgio Paiva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th match minute, Bensafrim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sérgio Paiva to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the match, Bensafrim's goal looked a bit too open when Amado Carvalho came free, but Eusébio Pedroso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, Amado Carvalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eusébio Pedroso was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Eusébio Pedroso came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Azinhal's Amado Carvalho. But to his dismay, Amado Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. SC Azinhal walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
