Carlos Faro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serafim Calado having to make a save. In the 6th minute, Timóteo Salgueiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Serafim Calado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Setúbal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, La Salle Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Setúbal came free, but Serafim Calado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Emanuel Setúbal managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Martinhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Setúbal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serafim Calado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 24 played minutes SC Martinhos got a freekick which was hit by Amadeu Campos. If Abílio Ramires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abílio Ramires's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, António Campos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Emanuel Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, David Figueiredo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Amadeu Campos was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 36 minutes had been played. Amadeu Campos hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After having played for 38 minutes, Abílio Ramires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Salle Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abílio Ramires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Abílio Ramires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, La Salle Futebol Clube's Vasco Fraga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that António Campos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 46 played minutes SC Martinhos got a freekick which was hit by António Setúbal.

António Campos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasco Fraga in the 55th minute of the match. The La Salle Futebol Clube fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when La Salle Futebol Clube's Vasco Fraga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Emanuel Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. António Campos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. When Emanuel Setúbal came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the SC Martinhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Setúbal couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The La Salle Futebol Clube fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Martinhos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
