Jaime Caldas came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by C.couto's Valentim Menezes. But to his dismay, Valentim Menezes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 6th minute, Mário Sanches hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10thth minute of the game Ronaldo Caneira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Ferreiras's Jaime Caldas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Valentim Menezes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Caldas having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, SC Ferreiras's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Caneira came free, but Jaime Caldas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Ferreiras's Jaime Caldas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save SC Ferreiras from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, SC Ferreiras's Adelino Saldanha got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, Ronaldo Caneira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Ferreiras's Jaime Caldas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save SC Ferreiras from getting a goal against them. Valter Coutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Henrique Castanheira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valter Coutinho scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henrique Castanheira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Valter Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Castanheira having to interfere. Henrique Castanheira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Homero Mafra in the 32nd minute of play. João Caires kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. SC Ferreiras's Jaime Caldas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save SC Ferreiras from getting a goal against them. Valter Coutinho's late challenge caught a C.couto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valter Coutinho helped the player get up and apologised. After 41 played minutes SC Ferreiras got a freekick which was hit by Valter Coutinho. With a little luck, SC Ferreiras's Jaime Caldas got control of the ball when Valentim Menezes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ronaldo Caneira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jaime Caldas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play.

56 minutes into the game, SC Ferreiras's Valter Coutinho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henrique Castanheira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Mário Sanches hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. A hard shot by André Gouveia from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Henrique Castanheira's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Henrique Castanheira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Homero Mafra, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Valter Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Castanheira having to interfere. SC Ferreiras's Homero Mafra got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jaime Caldas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Caneira in the 81st minute of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Valentim Menezes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.couto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentim Menezes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronaldo Caneira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jaime Caldas having to make a save. In the 84th minute Ronaldo Caneira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Caldas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Homero Mafra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When João Caires fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.couto's protests and gave João Caires a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Ferreiras booed when C.couto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Caires didn't get a good kick on the ball. C.couto's João Caires got his second yellow card of the match in the 91st minute. The referee ordered João Caires off the ground. After 92 played minutes C.couto got a freekick which was hit by João Caires. After 96 minutes, Ronaldo Caneira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.couto and the SC Ferreiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to C.couto getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Ronaldo Caneira hit a great ball.
