Cláudio Resende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvério Peixoto having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Rocha in the 20th minute of play forced Fermentelos FC's goalkeeper Silvério Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cláudio Resende might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvério Peixoto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cláudio Resende ran back to his position shaking his head. Silvério Peixoto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquim Rocha's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Joaquim Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Fermentelos FC's Joaquim Mourão got a free kick in the 30th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquim Mourão to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Saúl Azevedo during the 53rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joaquim Rocha got free with Silvério Peixoto in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
